3rd Generation Realtor
Both my father and grandmother sold real estate full-time and I grew used to the chaotic, sometimes exciting, lifestyle that surrounded them. Their days were long, and their to-do lists were even longer. This was pre-internet days… We’re talking no emails, no websites, no Dotloop contracts… (Realtor readers know what I mean! Can you imagine?! Whew!) And while I always admired their people skills and problem solving capabilities, I never imagined myself carrying on the real estate family business.
When my dad passed away in 2014, life became very different for my family and I. After graduating UK in December 2014 with a degree in Social Work, I began working as a bank teller; a job I felt comfortable with, a job that didn’t challenge me (or my grief), and a job that ultimately didn’t make me happy. As Chris and my family continued to sell real estate, I wrestled with the idea of joining them. And one day something inside me just clicked. I wasn’t born for banking or sitting behind a desk all day. I was born to sell real estate.
I had grown up measuring houses and previewing property with my dad. He took great pride in accuracy and measurements and was a fantastic appraiser. Besides appraising, and being a full-time broker in charge of 13 agents, my dad also flipped property. One of my favorite activities growing up was riding around with him to various ongoing projects. He would invite me inside and explain to me how the finished product would look. I would never completely agree with his finish choices (Shaker Beige paint color for everything), but I was grateful for time spent together. Time that, as I look back, shaped me into the businesswoman and Realtor I am today.
It’s now been 2.5 years since my realization to sell real estate full-time, and boy has God blessed me! It’s truly amazing to see the role God plays throughout all of our lives and I couldn’t be more thankful for His many blessings. As I write this post today, I’m overwhelmed by the fact I’ve helped over 20 first time homebuyers, 5 sellers relocate, 14 homeowners looking to upgrade and have acquired 2 full time investor clients. I am humbled by the opportunity to serve you as Central Kentucky’s 3rd generation Realtor! If we haven’t met yet… Hi! My name’s Caroline and I would love to work for you! ;)
